Datacenter Dungeons Is Now an Audiobook—Free for Mailing-List Subscribers

There’s a new way into the dungeon. Datacenter Dungeons is now an audiobook, and I’m making the download available for free to everyone who joins my mailing list.

A story that started with a challenge

In November 2021, I took up a challenge inspired by Matt Cutts’ talk, Try something new for 30 days: write 1,667 words a day, and a month later you could have a novel.

I began the next morning.

The world that emerged drew on more than three decades of working in IT and data centers, alongside an idea I’d carried for a high-tech dungeon-crawler game. Over those thirty days, that idea became a story, with scenes, characters, and places I wanted to keep exploring.

The first draft came quickly. The journey through editing and life took longer. Datacenter Dungeons finally reached print in January 2025. Now the audiobook opens another door into that world.
